{\'{\i}}ndices de vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o NDVI (Normalized
Difference Vegetation Index), EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) e
utilizados dados do sensor MODIS, produto MOD13Q1, e estimativas
mensais de precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o do sat{\'e}lite TRMM, produto
superf{\'{\i}}cie SSiB (Simplified Simple Biosphere Model).
Todos os {\'{\i}}ndices mostraram baixa correla{\c{c}}{\~a}o
com a precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o na esta{\c{c}}{\~a}o seca,
inferiores a 0,25.
{\'{\i}}ndices, entre 0,2 a 0,5. O LSWI apresentou valores
intermedi{\'a}rios entre o NDVI e o EVI, de 0,2 a 0,7. Nas
classes Cerrado e Chaco, os {\'{\i}}ndices LSWI e EVI ficaram
bastante pr{\'o}ximos, alternando-se por vezes. O NDVI e o LSWI
cobertura. Em rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o {\`a} amplitude
(diferen{\c{c}}a entre m{\'a}ximos e m{\'{\i}}nimos), o LSWI
Abstract. This study aims to
evaluate the performance of NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation
Index), EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) and LSWI (Land Surface
Water Index) in the Pantanal, considering the main types of land
cover and seasonal rainfall aspects. For this, we used data from
MODIS (MOD13Q1) and TRMM estimates monthly rainfall, 3B43.
Analyses were made by transects across region, using as reference
the map of land cover of SSiB (Simplified Simple Biosphere Model).
The results showed that, in the dry season, the NDVI showed the
higher values, between 0.4 and 0.8, while the LSWI presented
values between 0.0 and 0.4, except in Evergreen Forest. The EVI
showed intermediate values between 0.2 and 0.6. All indices showed
poor correlation with rainfall in the dry season, less than 0.25.
In the rainy season, NDVI presented the highest values in almost
the entire length of transects, ranging between 0.6 and 0.8. Only
in some sectors of Evergreen Forest, LSWI values were higher than
the NDVI. The EVI, in general, showed the lowest values of the
indices, between 0.2 and 0.5. The LSWI showed intermediate rates
between the NDVI and EVI from 0.2 to 0.7. In the Cerrado and
Chaco, LSWI and EVI were very close, alternating at times. The
NDVI and LSWI showed significant correlations with rainfall
(\α = 5%) in all classes of land cover. For amplitude, the
LSWI showed the greatest variation in all classes and in both
seasons. The LSWI was more suitable for studies in the Pantanal,
to better capture the changes in vegetation dynamics, especially
in the Cerrado and Chaco during the rainy season, and evergreen
forest during the dry season.",
